Turkish Bath

I am off to Turkey next week, and i have been advised to have a proper turkish bath / massage.

Anyone here had a proper turkish bath?? What do i expect? Is it worth it? How much? Anything i should look out for

My sister had one a few years ago, she said it's like your floating, when they've done all you want to do is sleep, she said it's one of the best massages she's ever had.

Re: Turkish Bath

I had several, but the thought of big, hairy, muscular men soaping me up and thrashing me with leafy branches did make me worry at first.... but they were very professional and certainly know their job....

If you are going to Istanbul the best place is just by the side of Trajans Column which is at the beginning of the bazzar (sp?). It is down some steps on the right looking down towards the stalls selling dodgy Ben Sherman shirts. Allow at least 3 hrs. for the full monte and you will feel like you are walking on air and so relaxed you forget all your stress.
