Re: Help with manchester
a short distance from the printworks is 'the triangle' which has pizzaexpress and other places. avoid pizzahut of course which is not far away. there's also within printworks the 'hard rock' cafe/restaurant - nice food but expensive plus the bogs were poorly maintained which I'm sure your ladies wouldnt appreciate.

Avoid the Printworks. Nandos is good (if you can get a table ), but bars no way. Wannabe trendy bars with no soul.
Could try here for indie/rock. Try along Oxford Road/Deansgate.
Or you could try Rockworld

Re: Help with manchester
...or Tiger Lounge or Corbiere's though you will need a map for that as it is hard to find, though worth it

To be honest, nothing is more than a 10-15 minute walk

Re: Help with manchester
Argh, stay away from rockworld.
5th avenue or 42's should cater for your tastes, though they can be really particular about letting non-students in so its best to get there at about 10pm when it opens.
I can recommend Croma for excellent pizza, but can't really think of anywhere that does decent pizza and steak.
Edit: Have been informed the living room is good, though packed with posers and the terracota army.

Re: Help with manchester
one time i had a night out Manchester, someone, 'dodgy', led us to a Chinese buffet style place, which was excellent, well worth a thought if anyone doesn't fancy steak/pizza

AAARRGGGHHH. Don't go to the living room. Full of numpty men who want to look like footballers, and full of girls who's biggest ambition is to slap on as much warpaint as humanly possible and become a footballers wife.
