Re: Bank Charges
Just started down that route myself, came back from a week away to find £200 worth of charges, saw red, following steps on BAG site.
Quite small beer compared to some of the bank charges some people have been paying, accrording to BAG site

Re: Bank Charges
I managed to get refunds even without a letter, I just rang call centre told them not happy and everytime I have got refunded, this doesnt happen regurly but probably has happened to me 5-10 times over the past 10 years with them.

Re: Bank Charges
The last time I went £3 overdrawn my bank charged me £28 I phoned them and the nice lady refunded it no problem and advised me next time I thought I might be going a bit close to ring them and they could temporarily extend my limit so I didn't get hit again.
I do think banks do seem to be a law unto themselves and feel they can charge what they want and take it from your account regardless. Like with my example above instead of being £3 overdrawn, I would have been £31 over but banks never seem to refuse the charges being applied that make you ever more overdrawn

Re: Bank Charges
Humf - try getting anywhere with Abbey. Bloody Spanish - should have sunk the whole country never mind just the Armada. Not long to go and I'll be able to deprive them of £5 a month overdraft interest that they suddenly decided to start charging me, claiming that they always have. Do I look daft? There are times when I think we're devolving.
