Minimum Wage Advice.

Is there anybody more clued up than me on what constitutes a minimum wage payment?

My friend did 1 days work with a local employment agency but only recieved £05.07 pence ph - the remainder of his £05.50 ph payment was made up by Holiday pay, he's an adult so should be paid as such.

Does he have any chance of recieving the minimum allowed + Holiday pay?

Re: Minimum Wage Advice.

I think they are extracting the urine.

Quote:
The minimum wage is based on gross pay, so most elements of pay are taken into account. Specifically included are:

* Incentive pay;
* Bonuses;
* Tips paid through the payroll;
* Deductions of a proper penalty (eg for misconduct);
* Deductions for an advance of wages;
* Deductions to pay for shares;
* Sums recovered for accidental overpayments;
* Union subscriptions;
* Workers' pension contributions;
* Unforced payments by the worker for employer's goods and services; and
* Accommodation provided up to a specified limit.

Taken from here.

EDIT:

Yes, as homealone says, its £5.05 is was thinking it was £5.35 already, but thats not until October.

Re: Minimum Wage Advice.

not sure if I have understood what you are asking? the minimum wage for adults, over 22, is £5.05 per hour

http://www.direct.gov.uk/Employment/...201&chk=00/jcP

so if he is getting £5.50 per hour he is getting more than the minimum wage
