Re: I got some new pets...
Boiled basmati rice with peas, corn and red sweet peppers. They dug out all the veg and left the rice, although the rice was all gone when I woke up this morning.

Re: I got some new pets...
Apart from the pepper, it's pretty much what I put in a stir fry! Who'd have thought it.

So you basically chuck in your left over dinner and they're happy. Come to think of it, I've never seen rat food in the pet shop. It's an education is this thread. I can't look after myself let alone an animal, otherwise I'd have a couple of rats.

There are some things you have to avoid though, If I remembver correctly they can't have food with things like gravy on it. Also IIRC salt is a big no no. Those two on thier own can make giving them leftovers tricky.
Rats do make great pets though, they are the most inteligent rodents that I know of and providing you dont get a biter can essentially be left out of the cage most of the time.
My sister used to have a large Albino, he was way over a foot long (not including the tail) and you could just take him out of his cage, put him down on the couch and he would climb up on the nearest person and goto sleep on either thier shoulder or lap.
