Death & Just not being here anymore in general
Anybody got any thoughts on this? I was watching a thing in New Orleans (before it got flooded and on the tv) about how they sort of celebrate the life rather than mourn.

I have allways thought of it as celebrating the life rather than mourn the death

Re: Death & Just not being here anymore in general
I view death as a transition, dying doesn't bother me at all but - how i die does (i'd like to go in my sleep).
When i do die my partner and children are fully aware that my body has to be left to a university of medical students to see just how much a person can abuse a body.

It's a fact Damien. One minute we can be alive the next - dead. I suppose it depends on what the transition is going to be. I'm not religious in any way but i do realise that one day i'm going to die. Some see that a god (place his name here) will welcome them with open arms and then allow them to be reincarnate - me, i have three children who will pass my genes down the line so i've done exactly what mother nature intended. If a god allowed me to have such wonderful children then i'll thank him if i'm proved wrong

It doesn't have to be a religious point of view. The way I used to think before I got involved in all this God business was that nothing actually dies - our bodies may rot but they transform into something else. We decompose? Fine, we then feed the earth, which then goes in to plants which will grow - perhaps they'll blow away, or get cut down, or eaten but the chain continues. Whatever happens, I don't see death as 'the end', more like 'the transition', however my beliefs tells me where that transition takes us to.

Re: Death & Just not being here anymore in general
after I die, the physical part of my body will return to the stars, eventually...
the 'consciousness' I have, is another matter, though, not where it is going - where did it come from ???? I am not being facetious, btw
