Re: A lump on my wrist
It's probably a cyst.My father had one in the same place for years and he never did anything about it(being a sargeant in the Medical Corps he knew what it was).If it doesn't hurt and doesn't bleed you have nothing to worry about as far as I'm aware. However Salu will probably be the best to advise you or a doctor.

Re: A lump on my wrist
Looks like a ganglion, a fluid filled cyst. If it is a ganglion it is harmless and only really symptomatic if it irritates any other structures in the area, like a tendon. They can be surgically removed but often come back again afterwards.
The old remedy for these was to hit them hard with a bible
I see these all the time and I can't remember the last time one of them gave any problems other than cosmetic ones.

Did you mean "borrowing" or "burrowing". It'd have to be an damn big insect

Re: A lump on my wrist
Hit it with a TV remote control it will go away then, my missus had one a few years ago, she went to the doctors who told her it was nothing to worry about, he said hit it with something hard right on the top, she did and it went.

Re: A lump on my wrist
It's likely to be a ganglion but don't assume everyone's conclusions on here to be an adequate diagnosis Marky. There are some other things that need to be excluded. I'd want to know a few more things before I went down the ganglion route.
Is it painful? Is it mobile? Is is solid or fliud filled? etc etc....
Although "whacking" ganglions can get rid of them they have a propensity to return. The most definitive way is to remove them surgically which makes them much less likely to recur.
But you wouldn't want to do this with one of the other things it could be hence you need a definitive diagnosis......see your GP!
