Heard of this scam?
Had a phone call about 10 mins ago, it was a recorded message saying "This is Patrick from DHL calling about delivery of your personal radio, call me back on my personal number 07094 606 107"
What's that about?

Try the number from a phone box, just out of interests sake

I may try it when I pop down to tha cashpoint later.
What do you reckon though, I had a recorded one like that when the AA was coming to pick me up. This one sounded a bit dubious, and I am not expecting a parcel anyway.

I don't know, I've heard of scams where you dial a number ( from home ) and it makes your line available to the scammers to dial up premium rate numbers that they collect from.

What line did you use to call him from? Does sound suss.. but can't see how it could cost you anything other than a normal mobile rate?

Scam 4 - premium rate telephone number: 07094
If you see a contact telephone number that begins with the numbers 07094, beware. This is not a standard mobile phone code, but a premium rate number.

How does that work.. I thought they made all premium rate numbers 09* for a reason?
Oh well Rammy, seems like you have an interesting wait until the phone bill comes in

Errr....

47p a minute in the evenings.. 070946 is a PN2 number apparently
As its not a standard mobile number, that's really irresponsible from BT/whoever...

Re: Heard of this scam?
070's are commonly used as "personal numbers" ie when you phone someone in hospital etc, off the top of my head they are roughly about 49p per minute
Does Rammy want me to check his calls for him and maybe work out a payment plan to pay this call off ???

Goddamnit Marge, couldn't you have been here 5 mins earlier? Would have saved me some frantic googling...

Sorry dear Well, gave you something to do didn't it
I'd advise anyone if they don't recognise the number or the message isn't relevant to them then don't ring back, if it's important they'll ring back at their cost not yours
