Hello,

I went for an interview yesterday and one of the questions the interviewer asked was:

"What would you do if you found porn on company fileservers / desktops?"

I'll tell you what I said after a few replies to this thread...

Heh, if I was in the interview, I'd say I'd tell my boss.

In reality, unless it was illegal porn (eg child stuff) I'd ignore it.

It would depend on the company I suppose. If they are in the 'adult business', you could get fired for deleting it.

Well - this is what I said -

Me: "First I'd take a copy for my own collection..."

Interviewer: "Your the first to admit that!"

Me: "...just joking!" (He laughed so think some points for that!)

Me: "It has no reason to be on company servers / desktops so track down who it belonged to and have a quiet word them - however if it was serious stuff then I'd have to report it...."


One of those BS questions if you ask me but I think I covered all angles!

But then I suppose they could be thinking that it was not your place to have a word with them it was their place. I mean would it be part of your remit ?
