Question Cycle Carrier Question!

Evening,

The GF has just purchased a bike - one of these.

I have a rear mounted boot cycle carrier that carries two bikes- one of these.

Do think the GF's bike will fit on the carrier? The way the downtube is on the bike it looks like the back wheel will be quite high in the air - or may not even fit at all!

Any advice on mouting both bikes on the carrier?

Cheers!

Re: Cycle Carrier Question!

We have a similar carrier and both have full suspension bikes which it carries no problem. Make sure you secure them well with cords and it should be fine.

Re: Cycle Carrier Question!

Cool - the carrier only has two cords - I usualy only have one bike on it though and use both for one bike. Should I use one per bike now or try to use both cords and wrap round both bikes?

Re: Cycle Carrier Question!

I think Aldi where doing a strap set for £4.99 including mini ratchets and bungees, we are getting some so we can put the kids bikes on the roof.

Re: Cycle Carrier Question!

Our Tesco is doing some "£1 while stock lasts stuff" and they had some straps with ratchets, as long as you secure the bikes properly they will be fine..... as long as the driver is careful Our survive being carried on the back of the Ka through width restrictions lol.

Re: Cycle Carrier Question!

What car have you got.

The carrier lists car which are NOT suitable.

So If your car is not listed you should be safe.

Re: Cycle Carrier Question!

F********RS! Well putting two bikes on the car won't be a problem any more as so f****ing toe-rag broke into my garage last night and nicked my mountin bike! If I catch the f*****rs I'll break their hands!

About 6 garages have been done. Reported it to the police and got a crime number - and SOCO have been round already and dusted down - but nothing found.

Well there goes my "get-fit-by-cycling" scheme - and being out of a job at the moment - I won't be geting a new one anytime soon.

F****ERS!!!!!

Is your garage covered by your insurance? If so, won't you be able to claim for your bike through your contents insurance, particularly seeing as you have a crime number.

Sorry - should have said - I rent the garage from a local housing association - they purchased them from the local council years ago. It's in a block of about 25 garages in the cul-de-sac where I live.
