Holiday help

I wish there was a site for holidays where you could put in the number of people travelling, time of year and maximum cost.

We are having a family holiday this year, thing is we don't really mind where and are open to suggestions. But we do have a budget.

As always TIA for any help.

Re: Holiday help

I have been using this service http://www.personaltravel.co.uk/ for the past 3 years and can honestly say its brilliant. Your local advisor will visit you in your own home if you want, you tell them your budget etc and they do all the work, I've found their pricing to be comparible to internet prices too. I hate trekking round travel agents looking for the best deals and this service is ideal.

I see what you mean about the inspirator

Trouble is there are so many places to go it makes things very hard to choose hence why I wanted to find a site where I could put in all my criterior except destination.
Perhaps some whizz in the Travel Industry can create such a thing (a small royalty would do)

Re: Holiday help

We were toying with the idea of the Balearics or the Canaries last year. You can get all inclusive deals to both if you want a tight budget.

(in the end we decided to splash out and go to Orlando in 7 weeks time )

Re: Holiday help

The Canaries have a stable climate, if it`s sun and sand you want. Or you could always go for a cultural holiday to Prague, or somewhere like that

Re: Holiday help

i've been to Prague about 7 times and it is a wonderfull and beautiful city but i'm not sure if i would have thought the same if i went there when i was younger.. depends on what ages the children are and what they are into.. if you are still at school then looking round buildings and museums on a holiday can be like still being at school :-)

I am in the tour op. industry, and I have created a couple of small ones (which aren't web-based unfortunately).

Humans are just as good. To suggest a holiday, we need to know some criteria.,,

=> Relaxing or activity?

=> Party or culture?

=> Hot or moderate climate?

=> English speaking or not?

=> First, second or third world?

=> Long or short haul?

=> How much emphasis on the kids?

If you want a good all-rounder for a good price, go to Phuket, Thailand. They've rebuilt a lot since the tsunami, and really need the money. There are some smashing deals going on. You could even try a 2-centre holiday and visit the temples and elephant shows of north Thailand.

Of course there is always the good old standby that is Orlando *ahem* (PM me if you are interested - that's what I specialise in now).

Now punky

Going on holiday 15 times a year doesn't make you a specialist - it makes you a skiver, just like the rest of us

Re: Holiday help

depends on the time of year really and whether you want to be surrounded by the football shirt wearing crowd.. and your budget too

i've always liked the Canaries.. it's basically the same as being in England except it's alot warmer and there's a beach.. if you want to there are some nices trips you can do inland too

also Es Cana in Ibeza is a great place to go to.. still similar to Canaries but less people in football shirts

if you want the ultimate beach holiday then i think that would have to be Carribean
