I used to take Creatine powder 3 or so years ago.
It doesn't do any harm, and won't lead anybody to steroids (unless they're that way inclined anyway).
I found it made an improvement to my training - whether this was a placebo effect or not, I don't know! I'm sure the increased toilet usage wasn't a placebo effect though (number 1's only!).
Use the powder rather than the serum, and take plenty of protein supplements before and after. Also stick to your training programme harder than I did!

I didn't experience it, but my brother claimed to put on weight when taking creatine (not muscle, just generally!).
