Thread for off-topic stuff

I've had this idea of having a thread for people who want to post things which are off topic. This will save people like me the indignation of getting our knuckles wrapped by the moderators.

Of course if I see anything which is on-topic I'll be very very angry.

Re: Thread for off-topic stuff

er if it's off topic, it's not relevant to the thread it's in, thus the thread serves no purpose. In fact I'm not quite sure where this will go other than to attract a load of junk and degenerate into a chat thread for which we have the chat room

If this is to debate modding policy, then this should be in the website discussion area. Otherwise, if it's for off topic stuff then as it's posted to "Lifestyle", it can only contain "Lifestyle" stuff to be on topic, but that's off topic

We do not allow general chit chat threads that hold no basis for a topic of discussion - This is not a chat room.

Threads are meant to be on topic for a very valid reason because they are discussing a topic - It is not for someone to come along to discuss what a favourite song is of an eskimo, especially if the thread in question has been set up to discuss someone or an agency receiving a parking ticket. I see no similarity. If you got your knuckles wrapped for being off-topic, you have only yourself to blame for going off-topic.

This thread is now closed as it serves no purpose.
