Lemsips, cough mixture and anything else I can think of to try and get rid of this cold.

Montes Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva from the Valle de Colchagua in Chile
Best wine for under a tenner I've tasted for a long time.

Indeed, and Chile is the only remaining place in the world where strains of the original European vine rootstocks from the 19th century are grown. Around that time the European vines were mostly wiped out by the phylloxera virus.

Not the varietals inparticular but the actual rootstocks themselves this is getting a bit deep isn't it

Re: The what are you drinking now thread
Peter Lerman - Riesling - on offer at £4.49 at Booths (posh Cumbrian Supermarket bit like waitrose).I did have it nicely chilled in the work fridge but got called into work at the restaurant so it has warmed up a little in the car, gave it a blast back in the freezer and I think because it is not too cold the flavour is coming through better. Too chilled and I think it ruins the apple flavours.

Quite partial to a nice Riesling myself. Currently drinking pear cider, though - Kopparberg. I buy it by the case at Ikea
