White Noise
Help.
I put this thread here because I thought it was more suitable here.
I am looking for free, sorry FREE white noise, as in a vacumm cleaner.
My brother is looking for this to help calm his wee boy, as he is having a terrible time of late, and apparantly this helps...... How?
So could any of you kind people tell me where I can find such noise so that I can burn it onto a CD for him?
I do not have a microphone or I would do it here.
thanks in advance

Re: White Noise
Which file? If it's MP3 you may be able to find a tool to edit it a bit. Either that or someone here may be able to help.

Re: White Noise
My neice didn't like the sound of the vacuum cleaner, so I bought her a toy upright dyson vacuum cleaner which had a vacuum type sound.
She loved it, she would clean the living room with it, and didn't take long to get used to the real thing.

Available here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net
It actually has a white noise generator built in.
However, (while I know nothing of your brother's family) I would recommend more fundamental steps if the wee babby is having settling problems. Have they tried this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...958020-6176752
It's a bit radical but boy does it work. We used it with both of ours (now aged 3 and 7 months) and we get a painless bedtime at 7pm every night (and painless nap times too).

Re: White Noise
BTW any TV or radio tuned between stations (AM esp) will generate a close approximation to white noise
How to transfer it to CD is another matter !!
