Everyone Knows There Ain't-a-no Sanity Clause!
Father Christmas found dead in Essex churchyard. So Father Christmas has actually been dead for over 440 years...
Actually, I think the persona of 'Father Christmas' is more recent than that anyway, so the name would not have been thought remarkable at the time.
