Organised or chaotic?

I have found that there are different ways that people do the presents on Christmas day.

Some seem to go for the free-for-all, where everyone just rips the paper of their stuff.

Others go for the one-at-a-time handout, where everyone gets to see and enjoy the giving and receiving. I like this, as you get more enjoyment and it lasts longer. After all, if you didn't buy that present to see the recipient enjoy it, why bother?

What's yours?

I like to take my time and check out what others have got too. Its more fun than opening all at once.

Re: Organised or chaotic?

At Our house the youngest hand out the presents we sit there waiting with champagne, then we all start opening when they have all been handed out, stopping and showing everyone everything...

Re: Organised or chaotic?

in our house, we aren't allowed in the lounge in the morning until we hear the christmas music come on and then we sit around and open our presents one by one, while eating toast. each person has there presents laid out in a pile which we go and sit by and the youngest person starts by opening one present first.

Re: Organised or chaotic?

We all have to be properly dressed before opening time. I think this year we might try just a few pressies for the children and then smoked salmon & scrambled egg breakfast (with Bucks Fizz) followed by more pressies for everyone, with time to enjoy things before dinner.

Re: Organised or chaotic?

I hate the last one, it means I have to act surprised and thrilled with an Adidas deodorant and shower gel set which I always get from my distant relatives, when in reality, I knew exactly what it was because it's the same every year and I receive about 5 of them every year.

I just open everything chaotically.

Re: Organised or chaotic?

We have a free for all i'd say. though it's not mad or anything, we just don't sit and go oh my god wow this is sooooo amazing blah blah blah... we all open our pressies together and thank each other as we do it.

And i think i'll make a smoked salmon and scrambled egg brekkie too, though there was no bagels left in morisson's so it'll be on toasted muffins instead

Re: Organised or chaotic?

I think the prezzie-giving part of Christmas should be as chaotic as possible - I can't abide it when people carefully unwrap the paper, just rip it all off!! That's half the fun!!

Re: Organised or chaotic?

rip open yer presents as quick as possible, dump your giofts on others, get yer breakfast and then off to the pub.

Christmas is so much less stressfull and passes much quicker when your in a drunken stupor.

Oh and its usually more fun too.
