Whistling in the Gents
Have you noticed how people start whistling when they walk into the Gents? Its almost an embarassment deflection response.
You know the sort of whistle I mean; the one that warbles at the end....
Or the overly loud "dum de dah dah dah dum dum"......

Re: Whistling in the Gents
I have never experienced this. Salu, do workmen also whistle when you walk past their building site?

Re: Whistling in the Gents
lol.....maybe I'm so damn good looking......
I don't mean wolf whistling, just to clarify....I mean whistling non descript tunes or even recognisible ones. I think they do it because they are embarrassed about doing something personal in public even though we are all used to it there is still a wave of shyness....maybe?
Has no-one else experienced this? If not then I lay down a challenge. Post back here in a few days after you have next been to a public toilet......

Re: Whistling in the Gents
In my experience, male office cleaners always whistle, especially when mopping floors.

Re: Whistling in the Gents
Salu, you do go in for threads about social mores, don't you ...
I always assumed it was an attempt to cover embarrassment. I hate public toilets, especially urinals. They make me dry up. But I don't whistle - I just wait for a cubicle!

Welcome to the official IPA (International Paruresis Association) website. This site is provided as a resource for people who find it difficult or impossible to urinate in the presence of others, either in their own home or in public facilities. Also, for people who have difficulty under the stress of time pressure, when being observed, when others are close by and might hear them, or when traveling on moving vehicles.

I don't beleeeeeeeeeve it. Truly, there is a 'condition' for everything. Support groups and seminars, I ask you! No thanks, I think I'll just use a cubicle. It really isn't any bother, honest.

Indeed, seeing as drinking too much IPA down the pub is something that might cause you to need the services of the PI5S.

Re: Whistling in the Gents
I can just imagine it, three blokes, 3 urinals, no-one wants the middle one
I do know one bloke who told me he prefers to sit down, to pee - but I presume he meant in a stall
