Maternity Leave
My partner has been at her works for just over 3 years now. She works 40 hours a week. I was wondering what the legal minimum maternity leave she would get.
They are say 18 weeks only.
Thanks

Re: Maternity Leave
But she can take another 6 months off, unpaid- with her job safe, if she chooses to do that.

Re: Maternity Leave
If she tells her employer they are obliged to put her on day shift (if she works nights) depending on what she does, move her to a safer working environment to proptect her and the unborn child.

Re: Maternity Leave
David, you're right there, but as far as the day shift thing goes, i had a load of trouble with that when i went back to work.
From what i understand, you have the right to apply for Flexible Working Hours, ie day shifts, and your employer HAS TO seriously consider it, or give you a damn good reason as to why they can't fit work around child friendy hours. Working in a hotel i had problems though! And, although i got days, which i requested, i got weekends- which i requested not to work!
