Drinking Alone - Is it wrong
Exactly as the title says, is drinking alone a bad thing, I dont mean getting up in the morning and having a slug of vodka, I mean sitting at home infront of the tv, having dinner etc and drinking a few glasses of wine.
Ive just made my way through a bottle of wine this evening, I think this is fine, I know some people belive this to be a slippery slope, what do you think?
I should add, that having had alcoholism problems in my familly this question always arises in my head, although im not worried about myself, although I will never run a pub!

Re: Drinking Alone - Is it wrong
would be interesting to see if people have one drink or a couple as opposed to a whole crate

Re: Drinking Alone - Is it wrong
I don't see anything wrong, I myself have a few glasses of 100 proof vodka on Friday/Saturday night.
Tha advantages are its cheaper than drinking out and you don't have to stagger far to go to bed.

Re: Drinking Alone - Is it wrong
I have to admit to the occasional bottle of wine (and a few beers) but strictly speaking, I'm not on my own when I down those 'cos I'm online gaming/chatting with our NTHW PC clan.......so I'm a drunk and a geek all in one

100% and 100 proof are not the same. Smirnoff do a 100 proof vodka as do many others
I know Tescos sell Stolichnaya (Stoli) but im not sure that its the 100 proof version

Re: Drinking Alone - Is it wrong
never have drink in the house - i dont see the point of getting drunk on my own - so much more fun when your out with friends.
rather have a cup of coffee at home on my own, and then at least i dont feel rough the next day!!

Re: Drinking Alone - Is it wrong
Definitely a social drinker myself. Only drink at home when hubby is about. Though he will have a drink if I'm out.

Aside from a shot of something late-ish or something longer whilst watching footy on TV - normally drink socially.
Don't get me going on coffee. I've stayed off it today but will no doubt have loads tomorrow whilst at work.

Re: Drinking Alone - Is it wrong
Drinking alone is fine if you dont let yourself go beyond control.
Just drnking yourself drunk and ill is not a good thing.
