Play.com
I am really starting to hate this company. My package was posted on the 26/11/05 and still i am waiting for it. What are they doing exactly. Delivering it by foot.

Re: Play.com
You need to establish what class of post they have used. Did it not say on your order? If they have dispatched it, and it has not arrived within the time specified, you should contact them.

Re: Play.com
I've found it can take 3 working days to receive stuff from Play, which I don't usually mind because they are cheap. 26th was a Saturday so may not have really been picked up by the postie until Monday this week. I'd have expected it by today or tomorrow at the latest though.

Re: Play.com
I order a PSP on Monday and it arrived today. It might be that it's been nicked - happened to me with items despatched by Play and firstsounds.com. You have to wait, I think, 14 days, before you can get a re-order as that's the agreement they have with Royal Mail for their compo.
When I did have an order go astray - last Xmas, itoy - grrr! - Play were excellent in immediately refunding my money after the 14 day period.
---------- Post added at 11:18 ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 ----------
And of course, if Play have despatched its's not them that's holding up delivery.

Re: Play.com
Remember that it has to come from Jersey so even first class post will take a couple of working days.

Re: Play.com
Given that the 26/11 was a Saturday, the first day the post will move is likely to be 28/11 and its only the 30th today. I think your being totally unreasonable to expect it any earlier given that it comes from Jersey.
Play.com cant be held responsible for the speed of snail mail
I use the regularly and have never had any problems.

Re: Play.com
if you read the info on play.com its says to allow 3-5 working days for delivery. So you are being completly unreasonable in getting annoyed at it not turning up yet.
So going by you stating it was sent on the 26th that would actually be the 28th so your package will turn up by friday or saturday at the latest.
I have used them for years and never had any problems

Re: Play.com
Play don't 'deliver' anything, they just post them.

Re: Play.com
I'v spent around £1000 on play.com over the years and have had only 1 parcel go missing, it was last christmas, I had ordered a birthday pressie after christmas but a it was christmas i allowed extra time but no luck.
I phoned them and they appologised and sent a replacement which was received within 5 days
There goods take 3-5 days to arrive, any DVD that is due for release on a monday I always get on the Saturday.
I give them 11/10 for sevice and price.

Re: Play.com
Tonnes of things are taking ages at the moment and I think people have started the Christmas shopping early this year.
I've already had one item lost in the post this week.

Re: Play.com
Yes, it takes three days for pkacgaes to get here. I have always ordered goods at the weekend and have turned uyp on the Wednesday without exception, and when one did not then I knew it had got 'lost' so I simply caleld up Play and asked for a replacement which they sent out without quesrtion, which turned up on the Wednesday after calling them on the Sunday - exactly the usual timeframe.
Remember that Play only dispatch the goods and have to rely on Royal Mail to deliver.

Actually, the Import stuff (region 1 DVDs etc) comes from either Canada or the US now (can't remember which), so will take even longer.
