Re: problem laying laminate floor

some tips here
http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/templa...n_flooring.jsp

http://www.aspen-laminate-wood-floor..._quickstep.htm

However when i layed one i used a laminate floor tapping block and crow bar. I think i got them from screwfix direct. They show them being used here http://www.houseoffloors.co.uk/lamaccessories.html

Here, this is the tapping block, use a rubber mallet on it

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/sea/...1&cd=1&x=0&y=0

it made life much simpler and the floor went down really quick

Re: problem laying laminate floor

bit the bullet and bought the fixing kit from floors to go and hey presto chango much much easier....i would recommend paying the extra 12 quid or so and getting it...in fact it would be difficult without it...floors nearly finished and looking good...thanks for the replies guys

Re: problem laying laminate floor

This might not be the case, but it sounds like you might be fitting it the wrong way round.

When fitted the wrong way round you have to lever the previously laid board to get the lips to interconnect, this can lead to chipping, and there will be very slight gaps once you've completed the floor.
