where is this phone number to?
hey everyone,
Where is this phone number to, which part of the country I mean.
0207 993 4698
I know the company, I just want to know which part of the planet I may be calling. I need to phone them tomorrow morning.
in the website, it does not explain where they are. it says .co.uk and sells items in £s but they actually convert this to $s and then you get charged for the conversion from $s to £s: confusing I know.

Re: where is this phone number to?
0207 = Central London
However, the 993 prefix seems to be for voice over IP, so it could terminate anywhere in the world.

0207 993 xxxx looks like a range used for voice over IP, so it could actually go to anywhere in the world where there is an internat connection.
(I had edited my earlier post before I saw your reply)

Re: where is this phone number to?
7993 is a central london VOIP number, I have a Vonage number in that range. You get charged the usual cost (or inclusive rate) for calling that number, just like you get charged the usual cost for calling a roaming mobile number.
My Vonage VOIP number is also the termination number for an 0845 number so I have a virtual phone number pointing to a virtual number, wierd or what.

Re: where is this phone number to?
You'll pay the same as any other 0207 number, but the actual phone could be anywhere in the world.
I have a 0116 216 number that is listed as VOIP, it just so happens that I'm in Leicester (where 0116 normally routes to) but I could have picked any UK std code and still had my phone located here.
On the other hand I can take my box and plug it into the internet anywhere in the world and people will still be able to call me for the same price as a call to Leicester.
Edit- beaten to it!

Re: where is this phone number to?
They are fab things, mine also has a virtual US number in the same area code as relatives over there, they dial a free local call to route through to my phone in the UK.

Re: where is this phone number to?
Ok,
guys about that number, it says the mailbox is full and cannot accept new messages at this time.
ok, the jist of it.
I have bought a camera from https://www.mydv.co.uk/xcart/home.php
and I have sent countless emails, and I have tried them 3 times today, cause I want to cancel, as they said all I would pay would be a certain amount, and that it was fast.
I am paying more, cause they convert the £ to $ and then I pay a conversion rate from the $ to £. so I am paying about £20 nore, which is not been mentioned on the site.
also I know I have 7 days to cancel my order, and I am within the 7 days.
what should I do?
Help this is urgent

Re: where is this phone number to?
Could send him a letter
http://www.samspade.org/t/lookat?a=www.mydv.co.uk
or just keep on calling till they answer, if it's a company routing calls to the US you may want to tailor your time that you call them to suit the time difference.
