Ways of making money... for teenagers
Yeah...
I'm a teenager and, as I can imagine most other teens do, I need money
I'm selling stuff on amazon, yet it still doesn't seem to be amounting to very much.
See, I need a new computer (Well... I want a new computer) and, as most upgrades do, it's gonna cost an arm and a leg. I need about £400 and currently have about £120.
Any ideas on jobs that I could take up and earn good money for doing? (I've thought of a paperound, yet... I have no idea where to find one... )

Of course, donations are greatly appreciated (yeah, thought I'd try me luck)

Re: Ways of making money... for teenagers
I did a stint at www.marix.co.uk last year and I ended up with more than £3000 for a 2 week study. Medical research isn't for everyone but certainly is not as risky as it sounds. In many cases all they are doing is raising the maximum daily dose of something like asprin by about 5% to see how long it stays in your system for.

Paper rounds are normally sourced from local newsagents or sometimes directly from the local free papers. You could also try car washing (cold weather normally makes sane people think twice about going out in the cold to wash their cars ) , garden tidying (trees drop a lot of leaves this time of year), window washing, dog walking etc.
Or you could try and get a first aid qualification and then try babysitting for local people.

Re: Ways of making money... for teenagers
You can normally find paper rounds in paper shops They tend to be hard to come by though, because of the competition. You may want to get in touch with your local paper in case they need delivery people, also with flyers and such.
The best thing for you to do is to put a sign up at your newsagents/supermarket (normally free, or for like 1 quid a week) offering the general services of a young energetic boy. Loads of people can't be arsed to wash cars, sweep leaves, etc... And they'll pay someone else to do it for them. You never know your luck, you might get a des.. erm, more mature woman take sympathy on you

They give you a full body medical, so perhaps some extra hair elsewhere might come in handy too....

Re: Ways of making money... for teenagers
You just need to think of something original and quirky, that nobody else has done yet. I'm not suggesting you try anything like this, cause Nem would kill me, but try and think of something along those lines.
Sounds easy when you say it like that, doesn't it? Of course, if it was that easy, then I'd already have done it myself when I was a teenager
Seriously, though, you've got a very good understanding of all things computing, so why not think about setting-up a cheap PC Repair service where you'll clear out viruses and malware from peoples' PCs, or offer some courses on teaching neophytes the basics of using a PC, how to browse the web, how to email friends, etc... You could charge 'em a couple of quid per hour. It's gotta be more profitable (and is definitely less strenuous) than doing a paper round

Be careful because some employers are not above being cheapskates and using the very young as slave labour.Make sure you know your rights as a young person in the workplace because there are very strict rules for the under 16's that some employers are not above ignoring.
http://www.bizhelp24.com/business_la...ployment.shtml which is info for employers but it should give you an idea of where you stand as a potential employee.

Like I said, newsagents' windows and supermarkets are the best. Very cheap, and effective. Also, try loot, where you can put your ads there for free.

Re: Ways of making money... for teenagers
Pauls idea of babysitting is a good one as it pays quite well. The only problem is that people usually want girls for babysitters but perhaps you could start off by babysitting for family friends who already know you and go from there....
