Re: Setting off a firework at 1.40am

No it isnt,

The creation of a curfew on the use of adult fireworks – between 11pm and 7am (in line with the Noise Act 1996), with the exception of the following nights where the curfew will begin at different times:

- November 5th – 12 midnight;
- New Years Eve – 1am;
- Chinese New Year – 1am;
- Diwali night – 1am.

No.

Under the new laws (Fireworks Act 2003), it's illegal to set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am except for New Years Eve and Diwali when it's legal up to 1am and Guy Fawkes Night when it's legal until midnight.

Outside of those times it's illegal and they could be fined up to £5000.

Of course the problem is catching the buggers

Re: Setting off a firework at 1.40am

Those laws seem very fair, why would anyone set one off a t 1.40am?

Apparently in Immingham one goes off to tell everyone the drugs have arrived and are now available from your local dealer.

Why would anyone set one off at 1:40 pm? I have no idea, but that happens around here occasionally!

Re: Setting off a firework at 1.40am

Happened where I live at 4am. was in the distance but if I have lived closer then it would ahve been a problem.

I still have the opinion that fireworks should not be on sale and should noly be available at licensed displays.
