Absolut Ice Bar & Below Zero

Hi all

Has anyone been to the Absolut ice bar in London that opened at the beginning of the month?

If so any information / reviews would be appreciated... would like to get an idea of the prices, atomsphere, novelty etc etc

Bloody hell, the price sucks! 12 quid cover isn't so bad for 45 mins, but 6 quid a shot

Re: Absolut Ice Bar & Below Zero

12 includes the first drink, so it is 6 quid cover + 6 quid drink.

Glasses are also made from ice, not glass!

Re: Absolut Ice Bar & Below Zero

It says they do cocktails, is that 6 quid per cocktail then, if it has one shot in it?

Re: Absolut Ice Bar & Below Zero

Still, it's probably cheaper than the Ice Hotel near Kiruna, Sweden. We passed nearby in March this year but, thankfully for our wallets, ran out of time to visit it.

No, but I've been to the one in Stockholm, Sweden. But it was a company conference so I wasn't paying. It was superb, I would say it' well worth a visit at those prices, just so you can say you've been.

Wrap up very warm though ... the silver capes they give you are not adequate by themselves, and the built in gloves are useless. Take your own and wear them underneath the supplied ones!

The ice bar in Stockholm has a live cam link to the Kiruna Ice Hotel. There was a wedding reception on in the hotel while we were in the bar ... despite the grainy image and the poor lighting, we had a reasonably successful time of signalling 'congratulations' to the happy couple.
