DIY..... Motivate me pleeease!!
If you have ever read any of myposts, i tend to need a lot of motivation before i do anything! (Stopping smoking, learning to play an instrument etc..)
I am getting some new vinyl flooring laid on monday in my kitchen and need to gloss the skirting and doors before they come to lay the flooring. So i need to do it today so i can carry on tomorrow if i don't get it all done.
I just can't seem to motivate myself to do it. I've been putting it off for so long now that its almost too late.
I hate gloss it gets everywhere and it smells!

If you do that, the paint won't have dried fully when they put the flooring down and they'll probably damage the fresh paintwork.
There you go - one good reason to take it easy this weekend and NOT get messy and smelly with gloss paint!

Get it done and have a good night out. That way you won't notice the smell! ;-)

20 year old blonde! ....if you weren't so far away i'd come and do it for you.
Get one of your mates round and a few bottles of wine, it might not be the best job but you'll have a laugh doing it.

Cos if you do not do it NOW,the new floor will show up the paintwork..then you will do it..then you will need another new floor to cover all the paint you got on the old new floor...!!!

I wish any of my friends would do that for me. Unfortunately at the minute things aren't rosy with them, i work with them i think we seen too much of each other- there's bout 7 of us! So at the moment, i don't think anyone would want to gloss- no matter how much they loved me lol.

Re: DIY..... Motivate me pleeease!!
Go to your DIY store
Buy a can of quick-drying white gloss (the can will say that brushes can be washed out with WATER not white spirit)
Paint
Dry in less than an hour with hardly a whiff.....

Re: DIY..... Motivate me pleeease!!
Well, i feel super-sorry for myself now, because i HATE glossing more than i even remembered.
Today i started glossing the skirting boards. I got bored of it within... oooo about 5 minutes!
So i got the 13 year old boy next door but one to come and help me, (his dad is a painter/decorator and he helps him).
Anyway i did the glossing, (well he did most of it ) but now i'm gonna have to give it all a second coat and i don't want to!!
I'm being such a brat about it but i don't care- i HATE glossing!

Lambrini???
I'd rather drink the turps... LOL.
(Well actually- the fact that i'm a brattish 20 year old blonde/ditsy girl means i didn't buy any turps! )

Re: DIY..... Motivate me pleeease!!
Whole house has wood stained skirtings which I am beginning to loathe (but not enough yet to start painting)
It's no help with the painting but cut an onion in half and leave it on a plate in the kitchen! At least it will take the smell away! Then pour another glass of whatever and leave the room!
