Yes. Now just to clarify I do NOT lick it after using it. I lick it, use it once, and then discard it. The reason I lick is to soften it because I think they can be a bit harsh on the ear otherwise, and not very effective at cleaning. Kind of like using a dry cloth to wipe the kitchen surfaces.

Am I an awful person?

You do know that the human mouth is one of the most unhygenic parts of the body don't you?
If you need to moisten the buds, use cold tap water.
Reminds me though, been thinking about getting on of those home ear syringe kits.
