Humour or just plain sick?
Please please if you use Facebook, get the following site reported/removed. It's a disgrace.
http://www.facebook.com/DeadBabyJokes
What is even more unbelievable is that 54,000+ sick and twisted people, sorry not people, 'Scumbags' have 'Liked' the Dead baby jokes page.
I am all for Free speech but this crosses unacceptable boundries.

Re: Humour or just plain sick?
It has been reported loads of times already.
The main site this comes from has been going for over 10 years and nothing has been done about it.
Absolutely disgusting IMO

It's the first time I have come across it, one of my FB friends had commented on their wall and I saw it in the news feed - it is utterly repulsive.

Re: Humour or just plain sick?
Yes - getting page cannot be found now. Good.
Some people are beyond contempt but I couldn't believe some of the crap being said on that page and some 55,000 liking the page. They were getting a lot of stick off ordinary people, calling them sick and twisted and those who had liked the page coming out with absolute BS and defending the page as though it was the people with who had a problem with the page, were the ones at fault.

So you're against free speech then?
(No. Not being entirely serious, but it could be an interesting debate )

Re: Humour or just plain sick?
Since I was kid, and probably before that, tragic events spawned really sick jokes. I still remember quite a few, many from the school playground, whereas I would probably have forgotten the original events years ago.
Is it a British thing? Making light of tragedy to make it easier to cope with?

Re: Humour or just plain sick?
Were these directed at individuals or were they generic jokes? (I am not clicking on the link).

Re: Humour or just plain sick?
The link now doesn't work Damien, as already pointed out above. The page has now rightfully, been removed.
Whether the material was aimed at or directed at any individual, is irelevant. It's highly offensive material and actually 'disturbing' that someone can make fun out of someone elses misfortune and it shouldn't be on a social website such as facebook.

Ok i'll bite ,
Free speech is fine and everybody should have it but it does come with responsibility ,the same as all civil rights

Re: Humour or just plain sick?
But but what has telling a few "bad taste" jokes (which is pretty subjective as we all have different opinions as to what is "bad taste") got to do with Civil Liberties, or anything else for that matter?
Take that Frankie Boyle joke about Katy Price's son. I got it and it was kinda funny, but some (including me) might say it was in "bad taste" even though it was kinda funny in that there are certain things you shouldn't really make jokes about; like blind kids who can't answer back for themselves in this case.
BTW I had never seen that FB page before and assume I couldn't see any of the objectionable comment as I hadn't 'liked' it; so I don't know the sort of "jokes" that were on there.

There is a difference between bad taste jokes and offensive jokes ,i assume that the joke/s that sparked this thread where about Garry Barlow and wife losing their baby in which case it would be offensive .Society generally sets the boundaries and it looks like society has spoken and set the boundary for this particular civil liberty (free speech)
