Farnborough Air Show 2012
As I only live a few miles from Farnborough most of the displays go right over my house. This year, I decided to give my nice new 300mm zoom lens a try to see if I could get any half-decent pics. The 30 pics here are the pick of the 977 pics I took today.

Yeah, I tried to get a few pics yesterday but the sky was so overcast it pretty much made all of the pics silhouettes.

When I was kid our house had a flat roof, and Dad would set up ladders and take deck chairs up on the roof and we’d watch from there. We used to get a fantastic view.

Nice shots....although I am wondering about the focus - it appears to be a little off on some of those. Might be just your equipment or your camera / lens it might be back / front focusing.

It’s probably the lens. It’s a fairly cheap lens so it doesn’t focus as quickly as a pricier one would, and for a lot of those shots I only had a couple of seconds to take them. Plus, they’re all taken hand-held and the lens doesn’t have any image stabilisation.
