Electric ( fitting)Certificate

Does any one know if an Electrician has to supply a certificate as part of a job? If so who can I complain too if he will not *?
Simply put, have had two spurs put in as part of a kitchen ( Note this) refit.
*Electrician wants £70 yes £70 for one - clearly a rip off. As far as I am concerned he was working for the "kitchen" company & was included in the total bill. So at the moment its in their court.

I'd go after your own electrician at that price.

I think you'll find that £70 to fit a spur socket is quite typical. But if that socket placement is part of the kitchen refit done by another contractor then the electricians contract is with them and they are responsible for the charges which they should have factored in in their quote. Unless they've clearly stated that you have to make electrical pickup points available to them at their specified places.

Don't quite understand why you need to know about the electrician's certification, was the job not properly done?

Re: Electric ( fitting)Certificate

Sorry you miss understand me .The spurs are fitted no problem with the price for the job.Break down of bill says £95 for the two parts & labour.
He want another £70 for the certificate !!!
As its a kitchen I think its required by law ( open to being told I am wrong).

Have had other work done before & that guy said that its now the law.He gave it to me at the time of fitting . Also when the boiler( gas) was changed I had two, one from the gas & one from the elecy, that did the work.
Hence the question. If its not then I am happy.
