My new job
Well i decided to stop waiting around for work to come in so i went out and found a new job driving 7.5 t lorries around the country .I started last week and it seems to be going well ,been down to Bradford today and going to Ipswich tomorrow .Quite enjoying the peace and quiet and change of pace so i won't be around as much as i have of late but it beats sitting in house twiddling my thumbs waiting for work that might not even come in

Re: My new job
Congratulations and much respect from me.
Everyone respects a worker and if you're enjoying the7.5t save and save hard get a HGV Class 2 or 1. Sign up with an agency and earn some good money.
My Bro inlaw has HGV Class 1 and forces good money out the agency. They ring him for a £8 an hour job (pathetic) he know if the agency is paying £8 an hour then they are getting probably £15-£17 an hour.
He tells them he will do it for £12 an hour they say NO he says ok goodbye, 70% of the time they ring back and Ok £11.50 an hour lol. He earns pretty good money, not great but pretty good.

Re: My new job
Wow. Well done you for taking the initiative in changing jobs.
It must be hard to be away from the family though.

Thats a crock of poo, Nothing makes a man/woman feel more proud than working hard knowing they're giving the kids/family a better life with better things.
Being away from the family is a crapper but its a price that's worth paying. Compared to some arse hole sitting at home claiming benefits watching his wife/kids/family struggling for money and never having a chance to get the nicer things in life.

Re: My new job
cheers guys .
It was a tossup between trying a different line in work or signing on and getting state help of some kind .I am a tradesman and have been for 25yrs but work is so thin and has to be done so cheaply it's hardly worth doing on a self employed basis so i just thought that if i have a driving licence then use it for earning money instead of just going to site .The money is regular and the work is still self employed but every day if i want it (within allowed driving hours of course). It won't make me a millionaire but will pay the bills and keeps me away from Jeremy Kyle TV

Well done mate you'll enjoy the time out on the roads, just be careful of the idiots who pull out in front of you thinking you can stop on a 1p piece.
