Re: Water Capping - Bathroom Suite

If you take out sink or bath AND some of the outflow pipework remember that if you remove the traps under the plugholes you MUST seal the open end of the pipes 100%. If not you will get foul sewer gas venting up the pipes and into the house. And that's most unpleasant indeed.

furthermore, i wasnt aware they were called "push fit caps", i thought RB was using that as an actual discription, so i was typing into ebay end caps and coming up with these

So in future LSainsbury, get your facts straight and stop being so negative and arrogant.
Errr - you were told they were called push fit caps in post #2 so you knew they were called that.

I'm out'a this thread now before I say something else...

Marty, I agree, this is my point. I dont want to pay a plumber to put a cap on, or rip out the plumbing. And youve been helpfull by suggesting putting a tap on.

Its not rocket science to do 90% of the work yourself, and the whole point of forums is to ask and get advice from people who have done these things.

So i appreciate your comment, its positive and helpful, and thats all i want from the forum posts.

Good Lsainsbury, i don't think ive ever seen you post a positive post "EVER" so its no loss you're leaving the thread alone to those that want to help.

In my defense i already explained why i wasnt clear on the actual name of the caps, but youre obviously to arrogant to even read the comment properly.

Re: Water Capping - Bathroom Suite

It may be worth tracking the hot and cold pipes back from the taps as far as you can see them. If the original job was done with some forethought you may find that you already have inline valves fitted at some point.

If so, it's a simple job to turn off with a screwdriver and you can disconnect the outflow side without having to turn off the house water feed.
