Good PC-Tablet for Value??
Hi everyone,
I am looking at buying a new Tablet, really wanted one lately,
Been looking around the shops and pestered by the sales colleagues to make me buy the dearer ones etc...
I am not to fussed at spec in partiuarly really, all I would use it for is general browsing on the internet, maybe watch some youtube videos and check and send emails
so quite a basic use for me, would be perfect for lunch times at work though
Anyone recently brought a Tablet or considering?
Any advice would be brill as I really am a novice when it comes to things like this
Thanks all!!

Re: Good PC-Tablet for Value??
what is you budget?
What about a Android tablet?
They can do virtually what a PC can.
FYI I have a Asus Transformer Tf101, running Ice Cream Sandwich (you can add a keyboard)

Re: Good PC-Tablet for Value??
Just googled yours that rather nice
Uuum my budget is a little lower than the price of your tablet
probably spend between £150-£200 do you think this is to low?
Yes android I wouldn't mind, had the Samsung Galaxy S2 before and the amount of apps on there were fab!

For what reason? Do you use an application that only runs on a specific device / OS?
You can do all of what you said on a mobile phone so why do you need a tablet?

Re: Good PC-Tablet for Value??
Well if you do get a Android tablet set it up using you phones account and you can download paid apps on to the tablet, and the other way round.
I would go to the high end of you price.
I have seen my tablet in comet for around £250.

Re: Good PC-Tablet for Value??
how about an Archos?
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/archos...34093-pdt.html
They did have a 10.1" version of this for the same price as this 8" is now but its not on the site anymore. Could be worth a look in store.
Or one of these?
http://www.ebuyer.com/344245-scroll-...ablet-pc-54242
That one seems to be getting some fantastic reviews. Only downside is it doesn't have official access to android market, though there are ways around that or alternatives if you don't want to or feel you aren't up to modifying the tablet.
EDIT: If you don't mind second hand you could get a motorola xoom for within your budget on ebay.

Re: Good PC-Tablet for Value??
£300 should get you something like a Asus Transformer tf101 (without the keyboard dock)

Re: Good PC-Tablet for Value??
this is worth a look, as I mentioned in another thread I have a 7" version but a higher spec screen and I am very happy with it.
If you do go the chinese route try and buy from a british supplier as sometimes they will "englishfy" ( I just invented a new word ) i.e. set it up to run in english.
