I've amended the thread title, it was somewhat confusing as it implied you were looking for a cheap weekend away

Re: Ebook advice needed please. (free ebooks sources)

What I'd need if I got an ebook is a device like the one Toshiko used in the very first ep of Torchwood, which could scan a book in its entirety without even opening it. I'm sure it's possible, in theory anyway. Certainly there'd be a lot more room in my bedroom without the several very tall bookshelf units if I could just have a single ebook.

But I really don't want to pay thousands of pounds for the electronic versions of my books, which given their sheer number is what it'd cost. Yet the task of picking out favourites is just...ooh! I couldn't!

Re: Ebook advice needed please. (free ebooks sources)

There's lots of free kindle books about (as I said check the kindle thread) and with the use of the PC Kindle app to download them to you can then use one of the many converters if your ebook reader doesn't do Mobi/AZW..
