"Paypal" email scam

Just received this email. Went to my paypal account, all seems well there. Googled it, looks like a scam, smells like a scam, probably a scam.
Just thought I'd spread the word in case anyone else gets one of these.....

Re: "Paypal" email scam

For what it's worth: I've received 3 phishing emails purporting to be from paypal in the last two days:

Quote:
Dear PayPal Customer,

We regret to inform you that some of your personal data (full name, email, home phone number, etc) are incorrect.
Please re-enter your personal data correctly.

Click here to submit and secure your personal data

Thanks,
PayPal
Obviously, the link doesn't go to paypal (and I don't have a paypal account). It might be a coincidence, but it's also possible that there's increased targeting of paypal...

Re: "Paypal" email scam

One thing to remember, Paypal emails always begin "Dear Firstname Lastname".

Re: "Paypal" email scam

Looks like an attempt to harvest your credit card details.

If I ever get an email from my bank (or Paypal) that requires action on my part, I always go to their website via the toolbar bookmarks on my browser. That way I don't end up on a phishing site.

Re: "Paypal" email scam

A member of my family actually handed over all her credit card details to a phishing operation once. The card company cancelled the card automatically when it suddenly started getting used in south America.
