Tax return payment on account : when deducted

Hi all

Just completing on return on line.....!

Last year I paid 2010/11 in advance but when completing the 2010/11 return it appears to still wants to charge me in.the calculation.....at when stage in the process does the calculation deduct the advance payment.

You won't get a calculation untill the very end of the return ,then you will get a full statement stating how much you owe for 2010/11 ,how much you have already paid for that year and details of any overpayment

I think so ,i can't quite remember from last year .either way your statement for this year will be online and ready to view immediately once it is submitted you can also claim any refund back online

Probably too late for the OP (even though the extended submission date is midnight tonight) you can see the entire calculation before actually submitting the return on-line and can go back and modify any of it and re-calculate the liability.

Handy if you put something in the wrong box and see Łks of tax that you know you don't owe.
