A company taking advantage on ps vita to charge higher cash price than anybody

I sent this to k and co and Facebook With a big launch like this is companies ready to swoop in but k and co formally great universal inc very are in a dream world with cash price.

My god your prices are shocking and daylight robbery. £309 cash price for a wi fi vita no interest just cash price. Hmv is £229 cash price, toys r us £215, game now £219. Sony rrp is £229 not £309. How do you expect to sell them cash price that is nearly £100 dearer than toys r us, games Jesus you cash price is between £20 to £30 dearer just paying cash. I preordered with hmv.

A lot of people did look on shop direct site and thought there was a mistake. Your the dearest for cash price in relation to vita by 40% and games by up to 46%. Honestly bad business and I'm shocked

Thank god for decent prices

Whilst I agree their prices are high, you are not comparing like for like.

K & Co are a catalogue company, where people don't pay up front, but by weekly installments - this is reflected in price.

Re: A company taking advantage on ps vita to charge higher cash price than anybody

If you want to buy on-line, look for them at very.co.uk

They are also a "shop direct" site, but you can buy them with a card or open an account.

K&Co are a more "traditional" catalogue that has the interest embeded in the prices, so that you know how much it will cost over time & how much you will pay weekly.

Lots of catalogues work like this.

Hi Hugh that's what I thought but no, the £309 is what you pay as full payment, paying it up cost £460 check link http://www.kandco.com/ps-vita-console-with-wi-fi/926732216.prd?browseToken=%2fq%2fvita. I'm glad I get via hmv. And shop direct think data will be provided by AT & T

Sony set the price to make it affordable to all customers

How can they take advantage when it's for sale elsewhere.. The customer has the choice to pay their prices or buy it elsewhere

Hi kimmy thanks for asking. Well they know nobody will buy it cash from them on the price. It affects a customer who wants to pay it up where they pay interest not on Sony rrp of £229 but interest on £309, that why oil annoyed

Hi well I think £476 to pay it up is wrong total payable if they was to charge correctly is £350. No wonder a country is in debt

People may not have the money, or the ability to get credit, to pay up front - that is the main customer base for catalogues.

Re: A company taking advantage on ps vita to charge higher cash price than anybody

Yet the catalogues use the same credit/load agencies as a lot of other stores.. If you can get credit there then there (as I said) is still many, many options..

I'm though a great believer that if you have to go to a seller like that and pay stupid prices then you shouldn't be spending

Re: A company taking advantage on ps vita to charge higher cash price than anybody

Have a look at the payment options & you'll see 20 & 52 weeks are "interest free". The other options have 34.9% apr on them.

Basically, you're paying a higher price so you can pay it off over a year.

All catalogue companies do this to a greater and lesser extent.

They are giving the customers the "luxury" of knowing exactly what they will be paying & for how long.

BrightHouse & similar institutions do the same sort of thing.

Re: A company taking advantage on ps vita to charge higher cash price than anybody

GUS have been in the catalog busness for years and have swallowed up much of the competition.

When they took over the Argos operation you could find identical products in the Additions catalog at 30-50% less than their mainstream catalogs like Kays and Grattan.

As always shop around, "interest free credit" is not profit free, they just hike the prices to cover the missing interest payments. If you can't raise the money on a credit card or overdraft you really shouldn't be taking "advantage" of these offers.

Hi I know bright house are bad, but the point I make is that the 20 weeks and 52 weeks is interest free, when they have already added £80 onto the initial cost

Well I don't wont and never have shopped with them. I preorders with mV last year. You said " they just hike the prices to cover the missing interest payments" which to means there are ripping off others, better option is local credit union and buy from a respectable company

I know that's what gets me angry, there are people who can't afford up front and they manipulate them. Saving with a local credit union is a better way and avoid catalogues

I know what you mean because say y you pay it up it will cost you. £469 if I had to I'd work out how much I need and put it buy may take a bit longer but you will be £200 better off

I agree with you, but no one forces them to buy stuff (especially PS3's, etc).

I am really old-fashioned - if I can't afford a luxury (and a PS3 is a luxury), I don't buy it.
