Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
So the talking blood testing machine I got
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35...-post6869.html
Can lead to false readings apparently....
http://www.numarknet.com/news/medica...-glucose-meter
So I've ordered another talking one from the RNIB (Free - so it's not an expense thing) but it could have been a more serious problem if it hadn't been picked up on.
Still well done to the RNIB who sent a CD out to people who had bought one through them.
So if anyone does have the machine mentioned above the recommended replacement is this one.....

Another day in hospital another cast.... More diabetic complications... More kidney problems...
And, the people I traveled in with on patient transport.... well...
I know I'm not the sharpest tool in the box but sometimes I think the only reason a zombie apocalypse wouldn't happen is that the buggers would starve!!!
But, looking on the bright side. Nope. Sorry. Not this time. GRR.

I guess you could class your Patient Transport turning up as being the highlight of your day then. Sounds like you had a bum day. Diabetes is the pits!!!!!

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
A lot of moans for me lately. Start of kidney damage due to diabetes. Healthcare professionals give differing opinions. One says high protein low carb is best then another says no low protein high carb is better.
Finally worked out with one that I need to cut my carb intake in a big way to try and reverse kidney problems.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates Part 7
Post offices. They seem to attract the slowest and dippiest customers and staff in the country.
My local post office is known for being drearily slow at the best of times. They have 2 counters but I have never ever seen them both open at the same time. Anyway I popped in there earlier just to get the price/weight of an item and the guy in front of me was handing in a wallet he'd found outside.
Now normal people would have just said "I found this outside", handed it over and left.
But no, this old guy had to give his life story. Explaining he looked through the wallet, couldn't read anything in it as he didn't have his glasses so walked the short distance back to his house to get them, read the name on the cards, had a think to see if it was familiar, looked at the receipts, noted that some were from other towns, wondered why someone from there would come here etc etc etc etc etc!!!
There was a Standard Post Office Queue™ (ie more than 10 people) forming behind him but did he care? No. Did the woman behind the counter care? Or speed him up? No.

When that happens to me I think to myself that the poor old boy/ girl hasn't spoken to anyone else all week and my anger towards them just goes away, I think it sad really that no one has any time for them.

Can't people just go 10 minutes early or something. so if this kind of thing happens again, then you've got 10 minutes to spare anyway.
