Cost to replace electric shower

Ok quick one i know prices varies all over the UK, my electric shower has gone.

Been quoted £360 to replace, this includes a new shower, fitting, labor and a couple of new titles etc... (as the new shower will be a bit smaller as mine is quite old)

Is this to much? the guy said the shower will be about £160 as the £70 you get from Wickes/B&Q etc... are pap and parts are not replaceable.

The best thing is to get about three quotes and also make sure that you make sure that the people who are doing the work are registered.

No never I know a lot of people who have had family friends do jobs and still get ripped off. My Father was in the building trade for 40+ years and he would always say to get quotes (even if he had recommended someone).

As I have said shop around and make sure. Never trust what over people say without proof of jobs and also if you are able to ask the person of the quality as well.

Re: Cost to replace electric shower

Look at major DIY stores for similar showers, most now 8.4/9.5 Kw.
(Look at which side of shower the hot water comes out compared to your original shower, doesn't matter if plumbed in from rear)
Last shower replacement I did took 11/2hrs from water off to water back on.
And as it was for a family member only charged £20 for install.
