Just what me and my partner had to do last year (same prognosis, Different breed of dog).

my Staff was put down about 6 years ago now due to Kidney Failure.

He died in my arms at the vet and i still have pics of him hanging on the walls now.

Unfortunately the worst part of dog ownership is the very sad time they either die or have to be put down,when i diovorced my parents had the alsation we had when married,as i moved into a flat i still walked him at weekends,and had trained him from a puppy he was very loyal and protective.

I lost him in 2010 and it took me months to get over it.

I miss our Kim, Alsation cross. I found her as a puppy when she was left tied up behind the computer shop I used to manage. She ended up having breast cancer twice so had all but one teet removed. Then she had her dew claw removed due to a nasty disease what was eating the bone away, also had a lump removed from her back. Finally at age 14 she ended up with a tumour on her liver and went to sleep in my arms while in the vets (hard to type with tears in my eyes). I had never cried so hard that day.
