Virgin Media - Checking Process

Hello everyone got the good news yesterday that I have been offered a post. (Field Tech)

Now I got to wait for the forms to come through so I can go through the checks.

Does anyone who works for VM know how the process goes? I have been told thus so far:

>Referees
>CRB or Enhanced Disclosure
>Lots of other random questions.

Now some people say there is a credit check involved and such, but someone I spoke to today who used to work in the finance side of VM said there was no credit check involved. Now I can understand when dealing with money there would be one but it has me confused with the role.

Any help would be great so I know whats coming as certain private reasons which I dont want to go into here could restrict me getting this post.

Thanks Kev.

I expect you would have not got this far if the were any issues with your credit.

Its a bit late but you should have tried the 1 month free offer from Experian.

I could not help in the other thread as we did not have to do a presentation.

Re: Virgin Media - Checking Process

Good work mate, i also got offered the position. Do you know anyone else with an offer or just us two?

Credit check concerned me too, mine's gone rapidly downhill during my unemployment but i was also told it was just to check for dodgy dealings so we should be ok!

Congrats again mate, see you next month

Re: Virgin Media - Checking Process

Congrats bud, they said at the assessment day there was only 2 posistions so looks like us. One of the guys who interviewed me rang today for uniform sizes and such so I asked him and as long as you dont have a CCJ or a bankruptcy against you all should be fine.

See you next month.

Re: Virgin Media - Checking Process

Kev is it just me or is it a bit confusing as to what documents you actually need to upload? Only got an email through today and missed the recruitment team, says you've to upload a DVLA mandate form but no way of filling it in?

Also asking for proofs but we handed these in at the assessment day, do we need to fill them in again!?

Gah, the instructions are no use.

Re: Virgin Media - Checking Process

I filled in all the relevant information and tomorrow I will print out the DVLA Mandate fill it in then scan it into my scanner and send it back. It doesn't ask for any other information to be uploaded other then the DVLA mandate so best thing is to do it that way.

It needs to be done within 48 hrs of them sending it m8, if they need more they will ring ya. I am in newcastle atm so if they want my recent utility bill they will have to wait but to be honest it doesn't tell you to provide it and i have went through everything that is on the online form. The pack the woman from the team told me we will get on Tuesday probably asks for all the address details that we need to post.

Just do what it says hehe, always worked for me in the past. :P Where does it ask for proof? I went through everything and didn't see it

Re: Virgin Media - Checking Process

Rang up the service centre yesterday for staff, at bottom of the welcome pack front sheet. The woman on the phone told me I had passed all the checks and would forward a email to our line manager to let him know I had been in touch. If you are worried about the checks m8 give them a ring on the number provided and they will let you know what the deal is.

She also said the line manager will usually contact middle of the week for the finer details as in start time and what is to be expected from the first day.

Re: Virgin Media - Checking Process

Brilliant, cheers. Was getting a bit close to the expected start date, will give them a call this afternoon

The checks were a nightmare, ended up paying £20 for two different banks and copy statements for proof of address!

Re: Virgin Media - Checking Process

Strange they never asked me to prove address. Just got back for my last 5 years wage slips which were from prison service and easy to get and scan. Other then the dvla thing all was fine.
