Washer-dryer

Hi,

Anybody got any recomendations for a washer-dryer? Any particular manufacturer with a good reputation and any to avoid?

Cheers

Lee

Re: Washer-dryer

Do you have to to have a washer/dryer. If you can, always get separate appliances. The dryers on them only do half loads so if you wash a full load you have to split it to dry, and they're not as efficient as a separate dryer.

If you get a fault on the dryer you may not be able to use the washer either.

Yep...needs to be combined due to space restrictions.

Re: Washer-dryer

On the basis of rather expensive experiences over the past few years I'd suggest you avoid anything labelled Indesit.

My washing/drying equipment gets quite a bashing in a B&B but still I've never managed to get more than a year from their kit and I'd expect better than that.

I've had good fortune with both Bosch and Zanussi washers. Sorry I can't speak for combi machines as I use separate washers and dryers.

Re: Washer-dryer

Weve had ours for about 2 yrs now and its near enough silent, and works really well for a washer drier.

It was about £700 when we got it but i presume prices will have dropped now

the model on the front says Hotpoint AQM8F49I

Miele is supposed to be very good (if expensive)?

Re: Washer-dryer

This is a very good site and has a section on buying a washer dryer. In their opinion don't, but if you have to, they give a list of recommended machines.

Re: Washer-dryer

Dont touch Hotpoint/Indesit with a barge pole!!! Have had nothing but trouble with firstly a hotpoint, had 4 replaced within 2 years due to the exact same problem F13 error!!! then then replaced with an Indesit (same company as HP) and low and behold we are now on our 3rd!!! And the fault, the same F13 error!!! Which is an overheating thermistor due to fluff build up in the self cleaning device!!!!! Poor design on them!!! So thats 7 in the last 4 years!! would never buy another one, will get a Bosch or if I can afford it a Miele next time!!!

Oh, and this one has just started throwing up the F13 error as well!!!!!
