Used clothes dilemma
My wife asked this tonight, what would be a good idea about getting rid of clothing we no longer used.
She said clothing banks or charity shops, big dilemma is what would be the safest bet for them to reach the poor and homeless, as if you place it in a clothing bank, guarantee you would have crooks come along and nick them, and if you left them outside a church or shop, someone else would nick them.
So how do you ensure that they would reach the poor and homeless/

Take them into the shop and hand them to the staff? That's what all the charity shops round my way ask you to do.

Take them into one of your local charity shops - that's what we do (one of our local charity shops, not yours..... ).

Re: Used clothes dilemma
We no longer put out charity bags as for one we must get around 2 or more per week put through our letter box plus we also get the other printed collection notices that we all know are scams which are usually dated the same day as the "Real" charity collection so that they can steal the genuine bags.
If we have anything that can go to charity then we take it direct to a charity shop of our choice which tends to be "Zoe's Place" at present as we know that it gets to its true destination.
As for the charity bags we just use them as bin bags as they must think we have money to burn the amount we get delivered and we have a clear conscience using them in this way because we are inundated with them, plus even if you put them out no one bothers to pick up the empties.

You could always stand outside your local dole office giving the stuff to those you feel look needy enough
other than that, take them to a charity shop.

Gary ,looking like a tramp ie holes in the jeans and hanging round your arse ,ripped t shirts with paint splats on them is called style these days ...or so i am led to believe ,so Arthurs best bet would be to hang around the dole office and sell them should make a pretty penny
