Got some good news this morning, invite to a interview. Quite happy with myself as honestly thought i had buggered it up.

Same here mate I was at your assesment day and iv got an interview. Are you for uddingston , Glasgow or Edinburgh ?

Uddingston, were u there in them morning? Wondering were we in the same group? Im Kev and did the prison officer presentation. If not then I was the guy in the white shirt and black and grey tie, with the Kev name badge on the tie.

I was sitting beside you at very start of the day. Had a black jumper on. Think I was youngest there with a good few years ! I'm uddingston as well !

Think i remember ya, I am only 29 so u not far off.

Think the guy said there were 2 spots for uddingston so there could be anywhere up to 10 ppl for the job. they always like to have a good choice.

Trying to remember your name was it chris? lol

They have me in at 9am next Thursday aswell.

Yeh thats me ! I'm in at half 10 on Thursday. Tbh every1 at our interview seemed to be for Glasgow and Edinburgh. Only me you and the older guy from Coatbridge seem to be from our area !

Ah nice, well with some luck there wont of been many in the afternoon session. They may of did assessment days on Tuesday aswell hehe. Fingers crossed for success.

Got a phone call today, i've been invited to the interview too, again at Uddingston. Going off the presentation there can't be many jobs available as they said there's only a team of about 13 techs for each area.

Wasn't expecting the interview to be honest, thought i'd royally cocked it up. Well done though fellas and good luck for next Thursday, although hopefully not as much luck as me

Hmm, I was called by Dan and was told it would be him and Lance (i think?) that would be interviewing. Wonder how many AFM's or line managers are in each district, and how many techs?

Not that it matters, in the nicest possible way I shall be trying to outshine you all on the day, muahahaha

Do u know what to expect in the interview? Always good to have the upper hand. (Inside info :P)

I think we all going to try and be the best for them as in any interview you need to make them think they need you in their employ hehe. Its been my tactic for years and helped me get into the Prison Service amongst other things hehe. Good luck to you all only 2 spots available so the odds double, The guy said on the phone that it would take 45 mins so if u take that into account and my 9am slot being the first of the day and say a 6-7pm being last taking time out for lunch. Your looking at 9-10 people they are interviewing unless they going to do it over more then 1 day, when i used to interview for HMV I always tried to get the best for the 1 day and make a decision from that (granted it was xmas jobs so not all that important). Also I assume the assessment day will add to the interview for a total score, sort of like course work and a exam hehe.

Only thing I know is it's competency based, so I would assume it would be similar to the phone interview with regards to the questions asked. Didn't mention anything about dress code though, might just play it safe with the ol' trousers and shirt, assessment day was smart casual but that wasn't a formal face to face interview

Full suit and tie for me. Take pride in my appearance first impression is everything hehe. Want them to know I'm serious about this and let my other abilities speak for themselves.
