Would it be foolish?

I managed to get myself a council apartment last year after having to stay in a hostel for about a year. Now the area and apartment itself is very nice, however i just came out of a college course and i'm now looking for work.

It's quite hard trying to find any job's in the area that i studied as most require a university degree aswell as past experience. So i was looking at other alternatives and i've always been interested in the army. It's something that would give me a sense of accomplishment and direction in my life.

The problem is if i go to the army, i will lose my council apartment. One side of me says take the leap of faith, go into the army because i feel it would be a life changing experience aswell as being a decently paid job. The other side is saying i've got my flat in a nice area, if i get removed out of army due to injury or something along those lines i've really put myself into a bad situation.

I'm not sure if it would be foolish to join or not

How much have you discussed this with family but also in the end you have to make the decision whether you want to join the Army and l would take your time before you come to a conclusive decision but good luck either way with whatever you decide.

Re: Would it be foolish?

Being ex-military used to count in moving people up the housing lists. Not so these days.

If you can sacrifice a few luxuries as you serve, you will have a nice nest-egg that can go towards a private house one day.

Follow your heart.
