HELP, Frog emergency!
So i was doing the garden today and at the back of the garden there is a old pool (only a small childs one from when i was a kid) i removed all the water etc, then we saw 5 or 6 frogs jumping away into the damp where we poured the water out at this point i felt guilty, so i put water back in the pool and put the branches and stuff back in that was in it before.
My question is what do i do if they don't jump back in? and how long will they survive without water?, i will pick them up if necessary.
I didn't know we had frogs!, im in a panic.

Re: HELP, Frog emergency!
I get frogs in my garden. The nearest water is few 100 yards away. Don't panic. They'll be fine.

Put them in the curry
I have frogs because of the pond, but there's always somewhere else they will go to if not at yours.

Re: HELP, Frog emergency!
Question to ask yourself is how did they get there.. Simple answer is that they can travel quite a distance on dry land especially at night

Ah, i didn't realise that, i thought they just grew from the tadpoles that where in the pool! but obviously the tadpoles came from another adult frog im guessing.

I think they tend to spawn in the pool they were born in. They then move away and come back once it's time to spawn. They also hibernate on land or in mud.

Re: HELP, Frog emergency!
They won't like the water in the pond if it has been changed for tapwater... but it'll degas after a few days.

Re: HELP, Frog emergency!
Only the tadpoles need the water all the time. Once they turn into rogs they travel around.
If you have any plants or a wall that is quite moist you will probably find some hidden there too. They like anywhere that is moist.

Re: HELP, Frog emergency!
I used to have a resident frog that sat in a hole in the ground underneath some plants. I don't know if he dug it or just found it.
Unfortunately, he was sitting on the edge of the lawn when I was trimming the them. Snip...
