
Good thing it's only 110v. Like there's just about everything wrong here. USA also have regulations about electrical installations and all work should be done by a licensed contractor.

Anybody seen the "Holmes on Homes" series on shed? He exposes some truely shocking building problems: Dry wall screws live to mains where they've gone through cables.
Mind you I discovered some leathal hidden wiring bodges when I redid the flue pipe on my mothers Rayburn to get adequate heat clearances: Bits of old chop block and used cable taped up and hidden inside drywall linings to extend lighting and power circuits. Had to redo the whole area and put proper junction boxes on the ceiling beams where you could get to them.
