Whats Your MPG
So with the stupidly high fuel prices we have at the moment I want to see if the MPG I’m getting from my Mondeo ST 2.2 TDCI is any good.
I’m getting 38 MPG driving like an old man.
Can I have the make and model of your motor and what MPG you’re getting please, just so I can compare for a peace on mind that I’m not doing bad on the fuel consumption

Re: Whats Your MPG
Renaultsport Magane 175dci Lux, (2 litre turbo diesel with 175bhp), average round town= 40 mpg but if I drive like I'm following a funeral precession I can get 50+ mpg
On the motorway draughting like a nascar driver I can touch 70mpg
I'd say 58mpg is more than respectable

Re: Whats Your MPG
My personal car is a fiat 500 which gets me between 44-48 MPG used 99% of the time for shortish city journeys.
Work car is either a 1.6 or 1.8 diesel focus which can get me about 45-50 MPG driving normally, albeit in a lower gear than I'd drive my own car in. Of course when the foot goes down that drops dramatically. Thats for virtually all city stop/start driving.

Re: Whats Your MPG
Vauxhall Zafira, 1.9CDTi (120BHP version) ... about 46MPG when driving like the proverbial old duffer in a flat cap. If I get all leaden footed then it drops to 40.

Re: Whats Your MPG
On the bikes I can do anywhere from 50-90mpg (depends on the bikes) but the worse we ever got was about 8-12mpg on a landrover with a supercharged V8 4.2L

Re: Whats Your MPG
Envious that I’m not getting 40 +, 37 - 38 and driving very sensibly.
I have thought about getting it chipped which supposed to increase the MPG, has anyone chipped there car for the MPG?

Re: Whats Your MPG
35 to 41 mpg in a 15 year old 1300cc Skoda... mixed driving (and traffic jams) causes the variation.

Re: Whats Your MPG
I average 29.7 mpg unleaded with a 2.0L Turbo Astra VXR, it is only 5 mpg less than my old Astra 1.8 Sri so not too bad.

Re: Whats Your MPG
My 2.0 TDCi Ghia X 55 plate Mondy currently gets around 35 mpg, it was 48 mpg when I worked.
When diesel hits £1.50, I'll restrict its use to urgent use only.
