Very crap problem as you have to assume things, for instance are the houses in a line as any other layout would totally change the answer

Another friend of mine (Who is a cancer) got it right! (I FIGURED HE WOULD)

He said it was unusual for him to get something like that right (I guess he used logical thinking in it)

You just have to approach it like a Sudoku puzzle. Progressively filling in the blanks based on the starting position and the rules/restrictions.
